Personnel Officer Responsible to: Personnel/Admin Manager
Qualifications / Specifications ·3 yrs personnel management experience and a bachelor's degree/HND in personnel, or business administration, or a related field.
·Excellent spoken and written English
·Demonstrated competence in the use of the Microsoft suite of software products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint
Duties
·Advise staff on personnel policy matters.
·Prepare monthly staff headcount spreadsheets for locally engaged staff including casual and relief staff.
·Maintain personnel files, attendance records, calculate/check salaries, overtime claims and allowances, finalise records and entitlements for departing staff, and ensure the Organizational Staff Profile is updated weekly for staff changes, including for casual and relief staff.
·Attend to matters concerning the locally engaged staff medical scheme. Liaise with insurance providers in relation to scheme claims, and other benefits. Arrange medical checks for newly appointed locally engaged staff.
·Assist in the recruitment of locally engaged staff, including casual and relief staff, and work experience students/Interns. Brief new staff on their conditions of service and entitlements and conduct induction briefings.
·Prepare and maintain passes for staff and issue letters as required. Ensure pass instructions are provided to staff.
·Prepare Locally Engaged Staff contracts as required.
·Maintain performance records. Produce statistical information on Quarterly performance management for use in reporting.
·Listening to grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures
Studies departmental manpower needs and prepares reports including recommendations; ·Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
