The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the leading UN organization in Reproductive Health and Population and Development, is
recruiting personnel for the following positions in the Zonal Office at the State level.;

1. Programme Analyst (Gender) NOB (ICS 09)
2. Programme Analyst (RH) NOB (ICS 09)
3. Media Associate (ICS07)
4. National Programme Associate (Umuahia) - ICS 01
5. National Programme Associate (Abuja) - ICS 07

1. PROGRAMME ANALYST (Gender)- 4 Posts
Post Level: NOB (ICS 9)
Type of Contract: Service Contract
Duty Post: Zonal Office Headquarters (Lagos, Umuahia, Maiduguri and FCT)
Duration: One (1) Year (renewable but subject to satisfactory performance)

The Ideal Candidate must.
Be a Nigerian National (Male or Female)
Have a Master's degree in population, Sociology, development studies, and specialized in gender studies.
Possess professional experience of a minimum of 10 years preferably in programme/project management in the public or private sector
linked to gender issues.
Be experienced in working with government institutions and donor organizations.
Be familiar with issues on population, reproductive health, gender and youth,
Have a strong capability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written English.
Have ability to work under pressure.
Have excellent communication and human relation skills.
Have proficiency in current office software applications is mandatory.

2. PROGRAMME ANALYST- Reproductive Health [RH] - posts
Post Level: ICS-09/NOB
Type of Contract: Service Contract
Duty Post: Zonal Office Headquarters (Umuahia, Lagos, Maiduguri and FCT)
Duration of Contract: One Year (Renewable but subject to satisfactory performance)

Duty Station: Lagos and Umuahia (Applicants should be resident in Lagos and Abia States)
Duration: One Year, with possible renewal subject to performance

• Knowledge of the trends, belief systems, values and norms in the diverse cultures, language and religions in Lagos and Abia States

Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidate should:
Be a Nigerian national (male or female)
Possess a degree in social science, mass communication, journalism or its equivalent.
Have a minimum of 10 years work experience in either print or electronic media
Have good knowledge of the workings of government, media houses, NGOs, and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Be proficient in oral and written English as is required.
Be proficient in current office software applications, such as Microsoft Office,
Be resident in Lagos and Abia States.

4. NATIONAL PROGRAMME ASSOCIATE (Umuahia)
Post level: ICS 07
Type of Contract: Service Contract
Duty Post: Umuahia
Duration: One Year, with possible renewal subject to performance

5. NATIONAL PROGRAMME ASSOCIATE (Abuja)
Post level: ICS 07

Duty Post: Abuja
Duration: One Year, with possible renewal subject to performance

Qualifications and Experience
•Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, International Relations, Social Sciences or related fields.
•Possess at least 10 years of Experience in advocacy and communications, public relations, or journalism.
•Possess at least 3 years experience in development of advocacy and communication strategies for development work.
Exposure to international development activities will be a strong asset
Advocacy and Communications Skills required
Professional and effective written and oral communication skills in English
Knowledge of how to gain access to the media by making an Issue newsworthy
Creative response to opportunities in programmes with integrated media, communication and advocacy plans and actions
Excellence in originating and preparing written material such as issue briefings, technical materials, manuals as well as layouts for use in
various communication media
Ability to edit the work of others to professional written communication standards
Proficiency in current office software applications is mandatory

Related Programme Skills for all Posts
Because the nature of work of all the above cited posts are programme focused, involving other groups and various timelines and
activities, related skills of good time management, managing deadlines and good team relationships are essential.
Knowledge of the UN system is desirable for all posts.
